What We Do

“If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?  So, faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” James 2.15-17

MEETING PHYSICAL NEEDS

Together, we care for the physical well-being of our community through several vital programs:

  • Casey Food Pantry: Operated monthly to provide groceries to local families in need.
  • Blessings-in-a-Backpack: This community program provides food for students of the Monroe School to take home on a weekly basis throughout the school year.
  • Food Vouchers: Distributed to help families in urgent need of groceries.
  • Gas Cards: Provided to assist with transportation for essential needs like work or medical appointments.
  • Emergency Medicine Fund: Helps cover the cost of critical prescriptions for those who can’t afford them.

Emergency Housing Assistance: Support for individuals or families facing housing crises.

NURTURING SPIRITUAL NEEDS

Casey is a small town with a big heart! And, we know that some needs in our community are larger than what one church congregation can meet alone. As a united body, the CMA hosts and supports:

  • Popcorn Festival Worship Service
  • New School Year Prayer Service
  • Baccalaureate Service
  • Other Community Worship Events

These services foster a sense of shared faith, celebration, and spiritual care across denominational lines.

SUPPORTING RELATIONAL & MINISTERIAL UNITY

Perhaps most importantly, the CMA offers a platform for building healthy relationships among Casey’s church leaders and congregations. We believe in the strength of unity—one of the final prayers of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane (John 14:6–26) was for oneness among His followers.

While honoring our theological distinctions, the CMA ministers to each other, supports one another, shares resources, and stands united to live out Christ’s mission to our community in BIG and small ways.
